We used plastic bags (document wallets would have worked too) and pegged them to a washing line. The children all held their own bean while I showed them a book all about the cycle of bean growing, introducing end emphasising words like soak, swell, root, shoot, germinate and stressing the importance of water. They soaked their beans, discussed the difference, then wet a paper towel and added this and the bead to their bag. These bags have spaces to write their names. I snipped a tiny hole…
