Not a Single Match by Shelagh Watkins, Although sad, The Little Match Girl is a much loved Christmas tale. Not a Single Match is a modern-day version of Hans Christian Andersen's wonderful story. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IXHHIDO/
"A Christmas Tree and a Wedding" written by the Russian author, Fyodor Dostoyevsky, is a classic Christmas short story. In this version of the story, the narrator is invited to a wedding. Apart from the father of the bride, she knows none of the guests and is content to observe the celebration. A beautiful young woman is the centre of everyone's attention, but her attention is focused on just one young, eighteen-year-old man. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00JOEK5P8/
