Ripe pear with a suggestion of apricot on the nose. The mouth feel is round and gently off-dry, again reminiscent of an extra ripe juicy pear with a touch of green apple for balance. Complex notes of white fruits and honeysuckle are also present.
A golden colour wine with greenish flashes. Very intense aroma with hints of peach, orange and grapefruit citrus. Well-bodied with a persistent finish. Very good acidity. Ideal to enjoy by itself or with spicy foods.
This is a classic Barossa Shiraz with intense savoury flavours of thick blackberry compote, black pepper and iron-rich beefy flavours, all in all without that sometimes present jammy sweetness. This is great serious shiraz with balanced acidity, fine velvety tannins and tremendous length.
A long time favourite, the ‘Löhrer Berg’ is a single vineyard Riesling from the family wine estate, Weingut Konrad Closheim. Situated in the prestigious Nahe region, Germany, the excellent conditions of 2011 elevated this off-dry Riesling beyond its already high standing. Now with a couple of year’s bottle age, it’s drinking more beautifully than ever.
