I just think this photo is marvellous - so much going on in it and such a great scene of '20s urban Sheffield. The corner of Gleadless Road and Prospect Rd ends after the steep terrace of houses. The pub is festooned in John Smith's adverts for both Magnet and Tadcaster Ales so there would be no doubting what you'd be supping in here! A marvellous collection of children look on! Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Gleadless Road at junction of Hartley Street, Heeley, built 1826. Used as a private day school (known as 'Ladies School'), during 1880s and 1890s on weekdays.
