The Gruffalo, Early Years.  We printed a picture of the Gruffalo across several sheets of paper and placed them together like a jigsaw.  We looked at each section in turn, and picked a colour (eg - the light green grass).  We then had to match that colour to a material available (eg, light green tissue paper) and glue it on top of the printed sheet.  We talked a lot about different textures, we wanted the Gruffalo to have rough skin so we used bark etc
