Richard Nixon and Bill Bixby were my magical heroes. They started me on a fascinating journey of magic, which I am in still enjoying everyday.

My magic mentor Alan Alan selling a whoopy cushion, with a giant safety pin through his head, in his shop 'Alan Alan's Magic Spot'. I took this photo, I think, in 1983? Alan would close his shop at 1230 on Saturdays and Michael Vincent and I would go to his apartment for and afternoon of sandwiches, videos and talk of magic.

I bought these coins many years ago before I tracked down some 1964 half dollars. Minted during the Second World War these coins brought a touch of history to my coin magic. Having been neglected for 10 years, the amazing magician, Michael Vincent, has now taken ownership of them. I could not have hoped to have given them a better home.

My friend and mentor Michael Vincent.

Michael Vincent - the magician for whom Penn & Teller could be seen to be oozing respect on two of their shows. He's one of the world's top card magicians and I was lucky enough to have him at my own birthday party.
