Although there has been a settlement at Cromer for the best part of a thousand years, it only became a resort in Victorian times with the arrival of the railways. The town is centred around the 14th century church of SS Peter and Paul. This was substantially rebuilt in the 19th century after it fell into disrepair. Whenever I go away somewhere rural in England I always wonder what it would be like to live there.
