Get everyone you know to collect lids - from bottles, tubs and jars. They are brilliant for sorting and matching activities - lots of different shapes - you can make patterns with them - you can look for writing - the children can draw and copy them - some are embossed so they can use a wax crayons to do rubbings - the children will recognise some of them - lids from perfume bottles are special too, often shiny and unusual shapes!

Pom poms, tweezers and sounds as an alternative to water in the water tray! Even added some CVC pictures for my uppers and the found the right sounds to spell the word and put then on a magnetic whiteboard which was hanging up on the side of the tray! Great for fine motor development, sorting sizes, colours and counting too!
