The Artisan Bothy
Genuine hand crafted finishes with chalk paint.
This Beithcraft dressing table was tired and in need of some TLC. My client was looking to treat his missus to her own dressing table. Not afraid of colour, as you can see. Finished in @cornishmilkmineralpaint Hive with a @polyvine Wax Finish Varnish for additional durability
I have been itching to use @Dixie Belle paint after following @Salvaged Inspirations for the longest time. In Scotland, UK, this was a challenge. But finally the UK stockists are discovering the beauty of this paint. I am pleased with the result - let's see if my customers are.
See what the Artisan Bothy did to this piece which was about to be broken up for the skip. Yes, really. Thankfully I was in the right place at the right time. Some research revealed it was an Arts and Crafts piece - if not originally then definitely a slightly later repro inspiration. It was an easy decision to colour 'her' in the classic eau di nil and finish her with a couple of William Morris pieces of decor.
Another piece of my repurposed Ducal pine has found her forever home. She is bewitching, this one. My unique blend, inspired by Farrow and Ball Sulking Room Pink. A really dusky, almost neutral shade which would live alongside bold and calming themes in equal measures. Me thinks F&B might be selling a tin of SRP for an accent or two now in this home now.
Needs his forever home. This beautiful, large, turn of the century, chest of drawers is the answer to everyone's storage problems. Fantastic deep drawers - all running perfectly. Professionally finished with a high quality mineral paint. For more details follow the link
Grace is a pretty, compact buffet/sideboard complete with drop down drinks cabinet. She is an interesting piece. Graceful and giving the appearance of real maturity - yet constructed with really obvious modern materials and techniques. It is almost as if she is acting in a part much older than her years. She has been finished in layers, building up colours by blending on the piece, mostly.
Originally from Singapore, these two cabinets have been lovingly recycled into pieces which could be used either as bedside cabinets, or occasional tables (side table/lamp table in a lounge). Carcass painted with Frenchic - a beautiful "no nasties" chalk mineral paint with its own natural wax content. "Funky Dora" is the main shade, and then a subtle Scotch Mist (almost duck egg blue) lattice work pattern applied to the locker doors. © The artisan Bothy
Originally from Singapore, the dressing table has been lovingly recycled into a piece which would suit even a more contemporary home. Frenchic Hornblower and heaps of dark wax. Features picked out with a unique blend of "rose gold" of Frensheen © The Artisan Bothy
