A REMOTE Carmarthenshire lake shrouded in Welsh legend has been named as one of the 1,000 must-see sights across the globe by an influential travel bible. Merlin's Hill, Carmarthen  Merlin's Hill is said to be his home and grave as according to legend he was imprisoned there in bonds of enchantment by his lover.

Leaving Carmarthen on the towards Llandeilo there is an oddly shaped hill to the left, known as Merlin's Hill with a cave said to be his home and grave. The hill is the site of an Iron Age Fort.
