Liverpool brochure issued by The Liverpool Organisation, c1930
What a wonderful illustration of the Mersey ferry, Pier Head and the Liver Building - all in a very lush, rich style and slightly American - I think it is a very fine item of commercial art. Oddly no artist, nor printer is given - the only clue is that you were advised to contact The Liverpool Organisation. I will quote from the brochure - "Liverpool is the twentieth century stripped for action. It is a beautiful and complicated working model of our civilisation". There.
January 24,1963 - The Beatles made a personal appearance at manager, Brian Epstein's store, NEMS in Liverpool prior to a performance in Wales. They signed copies of the newly released "Please Please Me" 45 RPM single, and did a brief acoustic concert at the foot of the stairs.
