Crewelwork Peacock
designed by Cathy Reavy, and worked with crewel wools and some variegated silk threads for the 'eyes'. Some beads are added to highlight the eyes. Inspired by a visit to India.

Dorset Feather Stitchery 'Lady in the African Sun'
This work is done with silk variegated thread on denim and was inspired by a visit to Zambia and Botswana. The style of stitching was created by a group of ladies from the W.I. in Dorset in the 1950's.

Bayeux Stitch Rooster
designed by Cathy Reavy, worked in variegated silk thread, using the stitch of the Bayeux Tapestry - laid stitches which are then couched and outlined.

Jacobean Crewelwork Tree of Life
designed by Cathy Reavy, using three main crewel wool colours, this is a traditional design and uses some of the more unusual stitches, such as burden, heavy chain and cretan.
