All of The Rwenzori Trading Company’s woven products use natural #dyes to #colour the raffia that makes the products. The#orange dye comes from the binzali, #turmeric potato. To make the dye, take 0.5kg of binzali and pound them until they’re soft. Mix the potatoes with your #weavingmaterial and 3 litres of cold water. Boil the mixture for 15-30 minutes. We source over 50,000 products from the Rwenzori region every year including these patterned, multi-coloured #plates. Since 2008 we have worked with more than 20 #craft groups to source over 50,000 pieces each year for #charity.
