The psoas muscle is the chief flexor of the thigh (allows you to bring your knee to your chest) and can irritate the low back when doing situps incorrectly.  It also is aggravated when doing a lot of jumping (as in the Insanity Workout) causing tremendous low back pain.  The red areas are where pain can appear when the psoas muscle is strained. #PsoasRelease
