Pink flowery cupcakes!

A Flowery Eid Party...!

Last weekend, the sisters and I held our annual Eid Party, which is mostly an excuse for kids to be rowdy, for us all to dress up, and to of course, eat lots of scrumptious food! This year, we went with a flowery, spring theme (with some rainbows!), which we thought would look simple but effective. Initially we threw a few ideas around, and wanted to go with a nice peachy-and-mint theme with a vintage feel, but we thought that this would get trashed in about three minutes after all the…

Pinky Cupcakes at My Niece's Aqeeqah

We had a family celebration over the weekend (which is where I wore my peachy Needlez outfit), which was basically for my niece's aqeeqah. The baby was the star of the evening, and of course, we had to have a suitable sweet bar to be as cute as she was. And we did have a fabulous sweet bar, with some seriously amazing cupcakes made by my sister, and which we all ooh-ed and ahh-ed over, as well as some beautifully made cake-pops which got eaten up very quickly by the kids. Here's a few snaps…

Things I've been doing: February Edition

I'm a bit late with this, but thought I'd post it anyway, since it's only the beginning of March! I thought I'd do a quick catch-up post about what I've been up to, I'm starting to get out of winter hibernation mode and into spring mode right now (I just spent half this weekend soaking up the weak sun in the garden, making the most of it!) Went to Choccywoccydoodah My friend and I decided to treat ourselves for no reason other than we are both chocoholics, to a visit to the wonderful…

Peacock coloured cupcakes - for my mehndi

My Mehndi Night!

I finally got (some!) of the professional pictures from my mehndi and wedding day, so I thought I'd kick off this Monday with a post about my mehndi (finally!). I've been sifting though hundreds of photos and trying to pick out the best ones (even as I was typing away I kept finding more to add in!) Just a quick note to ask anyone who does share these images, please do credit me back to my blog. First off (and most exciting for me), here's what I look like. I debated for quite some time…

Fruity Eid party cupcakes

Our Fruity Fresh Eid Party!

I'm a bit late with this, but thought I'd post about my sister's annual Eid party which took place last month. As usual, we held it a couple of weeks after Eid to give all the girls in the family, as well as friends, to dress up, great some yummy food and play a few party games. The theme this year was bright and summery - bright green, yellow and warm oranges and pinks for a fresh, fruity look - all of us said it reminded us of pineapples and watermelons! My sister decorated her house in…

Chocolate and red buttercream Eid cake

Our Eid-ul-Adha...!

Our Eid was a lovely one spent with family, although it did feel like we didn't get to spend time celebrating it long enough as most people had to go to work the next day! For hubster and I, it was a double celebration - Eid was on the same day as our wedding anniversary. So naturally it was great to spend time with the family to celebrate (and demanding a cake from everyone who walked through the door!) The night before, the locate roads were busy with people applying henna, buying last…

Gooey chocolate cupcakes

My Eid - Day #1

We had a fab Eid this last few days, which was spent with the close family – great food and good company! My eldest sister hosted at her house this year, which was a colourful affair, with lots of happy kids (and adults!) and a chance for us all to catch up and have a few laughs. (Credits to my sister Everyphototunity for the pictures below, as I didn't get to take many myself!) For this Eid's outfit, I opted to wear a pretty turquoise and silver outfit, which I thought was different from…
