M110A1 SPG The M110 series could carry a 155mm, 8inch or 175mm gun, but the version shown here is fitted with the 8inch or 203mm gun. As with most armoured vehicles improvements were made over time, the M110A1 version had a new range of ammunition and a longer barrel fitted and the M110A2 version (of which the British Army used 12 in the 1991 Gulf War) had a new double baffle muzzle brake fitted to lessen the recoil.
