Brazilian Spindle Back Chair by Joaquim Tenreiro chair design, furniture, seating, wood

The Austrian designers of Hans Sapperlot have given traditional loden fabric a modern makeover by making ‘invisible stitches’ in its material so it can be used as chairs, carpets, lamps and much more. The water resistant fabric comes from the coarse, oily wool of mountain sheep. Hans Sapperlot mixes its wooly material with the old embroidery smock technique to create a soft, biodegradable fabric comfy enough to add an extra dose of ‘cuddly’ into modern furniture.
