James Crandall | Impressionist painter

After a long career as a concept illustrator in the advertising and motion-picture industry, James Crandall has shifted his focus to traditional easel painting. He finds subject matter in everyday life, and is always looking for an intriguing play of light, or the unstaged gestures of people at work and at play.

Festival of Flowers 2008

This stained-glass window in Chichester cathedral is by Marc Chagall (1978) and is based on the theme of Psalm 150 ‘...let everything that hath breath praise the Lord’. The theme for the 2008 Festival of Flowers in Chichester Cathedral was "Celebration and Remembrance" to commemorate the life and work of Bishop George Bell, Bishop of Chichester from 1929 to 1958 and in celebration of the 900th anniversary of the consecration of the Cathedral.
