Children’s Day Dreaming. Children always imagine a fantasy like flying to the sky, swimming under the water...

Emma Johnson, Matrix Emma Johnson's work deals with issues of deconstruction and transformation, the recycling of materials, and the ambiguity of communication - as well as the obsessive repetitive actions used in the making of the work. Road maps are reconstructed into artworks which stand as a tangible and symbolic presence of the information contained within, but are virtually unreadable.

From primary research Karoline transformed ordinary materials into complex and unexpected knitted pieces by combining yarns such as elastic and cotton…

Love Stitching Red by Carolyn Saxby

the persistent thread - water - textile art

I love to make photo mosaics - in this one I am looking at textures and colours in a piece of work I stitched with a watery sea theme to make the fabrics look "watery" I used plastics and chiffons that reflect light, distressed the chiffons so they look like air bubbles and used different coloured layers for different depths of water. The frayed edges show water movement. I added seed stitches and fly stitches to resemble coral Carolyn Saxby - Mixed Media Textile Art
