Inner World Portraits

An artwork I’m proud of, this painting has much sentimental value for me. This one is an inner world portrait of my aunt, showing her beautiful bright, and fighting spirit despite her battling with cancer. To this day, her immense life force stays with me. A beautiful soul. I painted this thinking of her, with hope it will give her strength to stay strong. Created organically, through intuition, the imagery that came through is now very symbolic of my aunts beautiful spirit. I miss her dearly.

The Earthquake Series

My first ever sale was a painting from The Earthquake Series, which I did as part of my degree show. The Earthquake Series was inspired by my fascination of doodles, landscapes and my experience of being in the earthquake that shook Istanbul in 1999. These paintings became my exploration of form, doodles and abstraction within a traceable mediterranean landscape. To read more about it and my process, head on to my blog on my website.
