Woodlands: This woodland path is fairly straight presenting a clear direction. The lighting makes the woods appear almost mystical in conjunction with the flowers. Therefore lighting plays an important role in conveying what the landscape is about and when creating a magical one of sorts, I c=should consider a light that is quite pale but still bright, which could also convey purity.
Japanese Architecture location: The location of tis image could indicate a variety of things, such as the residence of a highly considered individual or perhaps a hidden esteemed dojo? This has made me consider the location o architecture within my work, as it could reflect the meaning of the building it surround.
Penrhyn Castle: I really like the effect that the red leaves and branches that have scales the castle has. From a distance, it appears like blood, which, in a concept design, could be representative of the evil or bloodshed within the castle? I would really like to use this idea within my work if possible as it would create a unique piece of work with hidden meaning.
Lightning Storm: The mass of lightning strikes that are hitting down almost appear it the lightning is an obstacle of sorts. This could potentially be used within my work as a character could be potentially trying to dodge them. On the other hand, the protagonist could be casting the lightning in order to defeat enemies?
Snowstorm: This snowstorm image looks as if the snow is being directed in a certain direction. It also creates the image that something dangerous is at the end of where it is leading. This has given me inspiration to use the weather as a directional guide within my work, using the appropriate weather for the setting of the art or game I am creating.
Slums, Indonesia: These slum buildings appear to be not well built, especially with its structure to hold the building above water. However, this created an uneven effect within the houses, as some may be higher than others due to the lack of planning that has gone into them. This could create a landscape of sorts, were a character could possibly run along the uneven rooftops? It could also create a background for a character that has grown up in a slum area due to the knowledge of the terrain.
White Swan hotel: The waterfall and greenery within this hotel almost makes it look as if nature is taking over it. I enjoy how it makes the image look as if the hotel has somehow been abandoned. This has therefore made me consider including his in some of my work in order to represent abandonment of a building in a futuristic setting.
Antarctic landscape: The separation of the ice pieces almost look like a path that is guiding whoever looks at this image to the larger piece of ice. This has inspired me to consider this as a potential idea of forming a path in my work due to it appearing dangerous and being applicable to a dangerous glaciated landscape.
Aurora: chose this image as I enjoy how the aurora lights up the landscape hat lies beneath it, creating an almost mystical feel to it. This could be considered when trying to find a light source in my work when looking for a unique way to have it. It cold also be used as a way to define a path in my work and possibly a game instead of a generic path that has been formed.
Prismatic spring: I chose this spring as its vibrant colours and almost unreal appearance has intrigued and inspired me in terms of future concepts. It almost reminds me of volcano with water instead of lava, which I believe would be a good idea when creating a landscape that is supposed to be hot but with a twist, therefore giving a unique design.
